This section will be giving you the necessary knowledge on how to use kill-planes, colliders, emitters and optimize your scene files for speed or render quality. Helpful introductions will be followed by hands-on examples on how to setup scene files, covering one by one all the tools currently available in Bifrost.
The course will start with a theoretical premise covering a little introduction on how flip solvers differ from other simulation techniques to let you better understand down the road the way of working around Bifrost. For all the others, new to this environment we will cover everything from the ground up to make of you educated FX artists. We think this will help those who, like me, used to be true Naiad soldiers and now want to transition onto Bifrost. We have decided to mark specific sections of the classes when referring back to similarities with Naiad.
This course will go through the process of simulating liquids with the new Bifrost Fluid Implicit Particle solver (FLIP) in Maya 2015.Īlthough simplicity is key when learning, this course will help you not only to learn how to press Maya buttons, but is intended to infuse your creativity with knowledge on how staggered grids and particles can become alive and create beautiful water simulations, from a small droplet to a massive ocean.
